Mary Carol Parker

Position Title
Lawyer

Mary Carol Parker has been practicing law since 1990 after a life with her head in the clouds. She attended Parks College for her undergraduate studies and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering in 1986. Which just goes to show it may not take a rocket scientist, but we have one just in case.

Mary attended St. Louis University School of Law on scholarship and graduated with her law degree in 1991. She is licensed in various federal courts as well as Missouri, Illinois and Oregon. While in law school, she represented clients through the law clinic at St. Louis University. This included orders of protection, garnishments, child support and other civil matters. Her practice since law school focused on corporate law, professional negligence, personal injury and insurance defense. She has tried over 200 cases to verdict.

In addition to her legal work, she was the Director and professor of legal studies at a Midwest university where she developed a course to train students to work as court appointed advocates for children. In conjunction with the Forensic Science and Criminal Justice programs, she also developed a summer course which took students from the commission of a felony through to a jury trial in order to understand the interactions and limitations of the various courses of study.

She is the recipient of the John C. Shepard Award from the Missouri Bar for professionalism and the Gladys Dreher Award from Louisiana State University Trial Advocacy Program. She is a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy and returns often to teach other attorneys in effective trial techniques both in the United States and Canada.

Mary is a life-long St. Louis Cardinals and Blues Hockey fan. Outside of work, her number one joy is spending time with her family and cooking meals for all to enjoy. She is known to throw a yearly Bar-B Que Ribfest over Memorial Day Weekend where everyone comes as they are, and wet wipes are set at every table. She is an avid fisherperson and hunter. Downtime is usually spent reading historical fiction and hanging with Toby and Ben, her Bernedoodle and Chocolate Labrador Retriever. She enjoys travel and has travelled throughout the United States, always finding the best local cuisine and a cookbook to bring back and try.

No matter what the type of legal problem, Mary's goal is to assess the issues and present her clients with possible solutions or courses of action and listen. We all need to be heard.
